Synopsis

In Posur Rus New Town lives Buster Brown, a shy 13-year-old who keeps to himself alot. The small, frail boy, a freshman in Knee Yan Secondary often spends his days avoiding the crowd and sulking away in a corner as he hates his new school. However, his life isn't as bad as he makes it out to be. In school, he is often approached by his new classmates to play and hang out after school, but he only wants to be away from those unfamiliar people. Additionally, when he does talk to his "friends", he is usually whining about the slightest things like why the wind has to mess up his hair or why school has to start so early in the morning.

 

However, he starts to feel differently when he meets Patricia, who quickly becomes someone he considers his best friend and falls for her, simply because she was assigned to sit beside him in class. Being talkative in nature, Patricia often speaks to Buster, who is so smitten he doesn't even bother complaining. Buster mistakes Patricia's niceness to him as a sign of attraction, and he confesses his love for her in a very sappy poem, to which Patricia responds by saying she "just wants to be friends", and smiling.

 

Depressed, he simply lays in the back seat of his mother's car when she picked him up after school one day. She forgets that she had left something at work and drives Buster to an animal testing centre, her workplace. Because he had no razors to cut himself with or smokes to blow his troubles away, he tries finding a computer to check his myspace. He comes across a mysterious darkly-lit room, where he stumbles over some chemicals and machinery, and a freak accident occurs, transforming him into a GIGANTIC BEAST with superhuman strength and powers. His mother finds her mutated son in the room and quickly tranquilizes and brings(drags) him home.

 

Coming to, Buster, now back to normal, asks his parents what happened. His mother then explains that as the transformation was painful and frightening, he was crying when it happened for the first time, and it will be triggered whenever he undergoes emotional stress. The slightest teardrop can result in him being a serious threat to those around him. Buster is speechless, but his father, coincidentally the Mayor of Posur Rus, sees the potential in his son. He seeks to use his son for good, by using his brute stength and other powers when he transforms to stop robbers and other criminals, thereby reduce crime rates without having to hire more policemen, as he is sort of a cheapskate.

 

His first "mission" is to defeat the rabid demon-rabbits accidentally created when Buster's accident affected the animals in the test centre. Although he is physically very different when he transforms, his personality remains the same. All Buster wants to do is be left alone to cry and cut himself and go on myspace though, especially when he feels the sadness which transforms him into the monstrous creature. He shows immense reluctance to save the day. The huge mutated rodents terrorizing the town prompts the start of Buster Brown's new superhero career as, using his online screenname as a vigilante alias, SAD_BOI93.
